I use both and feel hotmail is better. I have 4 accounts and with the link feature, I can switch without providing my account info.


Since that is a good feature, you must make sure your passwords are "strong" as if one is hacked, the others are available for view.





I also like that it has folders so I can sort incoming mail to "vendors" and "clients" as it accessible from my mobile phone.
Reply:I have used Hotmail for many years through many developments called "improvements", also used Yahoo! Mail for same period, and a few others that have fallen-by-the-wayside. When gmail came on line, I "sampled" it. I kept it!





For me gmail has more speed in switching for one function to another. Google's Anti-spam system is very good; effective with very few "false positives" that mis-deliver good mail. I make extensive use of the "message filtering" feature to route specific sender's mail to a specific folder for dealing with all at once, or for filtering specific subjects to a folder for organization, and I sometimes will automatically forward some senders or subjects temporarily for a specific project.





I recommend gmail to all for its consistency of good reliable service, well-thought useful features, good support (if you ever need it), and superior spam filtering. Hotmail is a close second, but since I started using Google's new browser, CHROME, I cannot yet use Hotmail, as it is not yet supported by Google (or viceversa). But it does work fine with IE or Firefox browsers.





Why not try both for a couple of months concurrently to get the feel of each? I have managed to get the same "handle" at each of the Big Three: gmail %26amp; Hotmail %26amp; Yahoo! Mail. It is not difficult (if you drop one of them later) to simply notify your "Contacts" of your "new" or exclusive address.





One last note, gmail has very few ads: very few.

If you ask me to pick between gmail and MSN Live, I prefer gmail. It fast loading, and have few add. As youth I like their feature, such as changeable theme and color. The disadvantage (for me ) is it only support very few fonts.





MSN is too sophisticated, and it focusing on all in one. You can blogging, also and translator. But I think as youth you no need all this. I only use email for sending email and chatting.
